This is a great read for a physicist. Flows and Harmonic Functions. Cauchy’s Formula and Its Applications It is therefore a special pleasure to see Tristan Needham’s Visual Complex Analysis with its elegantly illustrated visual approach. Andy Williamson rated it really liked it Jun 01, I totally agree,but these books are considerably harder then Needham’s.

Nwedham you want a feel for complex analysis and want to experience the motivation behind some fuzzy concepts that are introduced in terse texts, then this book is for needha.

A wonderful book which overviews a lot of these kinds of ideas is Glimpses of Algebra and Geometry by Gabor Toth. Graham Flegg This book explains some basic topological concepts using a lot of examples and it has quite a lot of pictures. Many other people have said that one needhham read this book only after completing a Complex Analysis course, but I don’t think this is necessary: I to IV Springer. It was truly a joy to peruse. It does not shy away from more “abstract” applications like Quantum Mechanics, which is another one of its strong points.

Koenderink, MIT Press This is an older book, but it has some really nice approaches to thinking about differential geometry, and he encourages the reader to develop multiple views of the subject.
