Anyways, I loved his relationship with his grams and was just overly fond of him and our heroine together. She had found out only this morning that she was to wed the Duke.

Potter, the vicar’s wife, and the Dowager Duchess of Stratton and Ladies Fairlie and Dunbar — but the author also steps out of traditional regency with her commentaries and insights into the Ton: There is an evil family and an obsessed stalker to make the story move forward because the Duke and Eva would have taken years to build their marriage, but it is quickly made more intimate by threats to Eva.
There were never any down times where the story dragged, and it had a nice smooth pace throughout. The Dowager Duchess and her friends help launch her into society.

Eva and Daniel must marry on her 18th birthday, according to a contract her father made his father sign to absolve him from gambling debts. I skipped over that part but don’t like having to do that. It’s not necessary to describe explicitly vells is happening in bed.
Eva’s glad to escape her father, but her new husband is angry. She blushed just thinking chhance what they had shared last night in this bed.
