At times the religious aspects of the book are overwhelming, but, those are definitely overcome by how much you get to learn about these religions. Tim was a good person and humble, but he never truly interested me. Thanks for telling us about the problem.

Jun 01, Shaily rated it it was amazing. Since I have always been Protestant, I learned a lot, but am left with questions.

This book must resonate within most people– amty main theme being love across religious boundaries. It is a multiple love story– two men’s love of their God, one Jewish, one Christian. This is a wonderful book! It is entertaining but only that, the lives of Daniel, Deborah and especially Timothy advance in leaps and bounds; without any depth. I was mostly interested in the story of Deborah. Wiry, I’m unable to find the flow in it. Karan Sharma rated it it was ok Oct 12, Want to Read saving….

The character development was well done. Maybe, it was too predictable most of the times, or maybe just when a thought process was leading to something monumental, it suddenly lost all steam or maybe I was expecting something entirely different.

And that is what has given meaning to my life. I felt Segal needed to do a better job showing Tim’s devotion to his faith, and that’s the reason why he went into the priesthood and continued on for many years.

I bless God for bringing me you.

It’s definitely not the best Segal I’ve read. Jul 14, Jen rated it really liked it. What I skty most about this book was the simultaneous narration of three characters– an amazing feature in a Segal book. Three extraordinary lives, the style is similar to other books of Erich Segal.

But if it were not so important, why would we be put on earth? Feb 24, Marilyn rated it it was amazing.

Abandoned at birth, he finds a home–and a dazzling career–within the Catholic Church. When they are caught by Deborah’s father conversing in the entryway totally forbidden for Deborah Deborah is banished to Israel where she is forced to stay with a wretched family who claims to be loving Jewish people.

He describes the world of Judaism and Catholicism in a very engaging and interesting way, providing specific details and terminology. He was best-known for writing the novel Love Storya bestseller, and writing the motion picture of the same name, which was a major hit. The exploration of faith and how one hew to it Deborah or not Daniel is always an interesting thing to explore. Matthew Budman rated it it was ok Oct 07, Kehidupan mereka dipenuhi cobaan, godaan dan cinta, terutama Deborah, yang kemudian mencintai seorang calon Pastor, Timothy, yang telah dikenalnya sejak remaja.

Akty wiary by Erich Segal (2 star ratings)

Deborah and Daniel are orthodox Jewish children of a Rabbi, and each of them were brought up for a specific purpose– the perfect Jewish wife, and the perfect Rabbi. Lists with This Book. She had the most dimensions. He delves into religion and love: Polly rated it it was ok Feb 22, We all need more wise and important books like this one.

But the vows he takes cannot protect him from one soul-igniting passion. Preview — Acts of Faith by Erich Segal.

Timothy, no doubt, is beautifully etched as a character, and it was a pleasure to read through Deborah’s journey in what was a man’s world of being Rabbis.

If they had died martyrs, it would have been more credible. I own first editions of all Segal’s books, but the Kindle allows me to carry the entire armload.
