Honestly, if you take any recommendation from me this year – it should be this one. The situation report from remaque frontline states a simple phrase: The Goodreads edition I selected has the same date and editor but my copy looks like this. I felt like I was experiencing the boys’ emotions with them, the good ones as well as the bad ones. So now it seems right. Remarque portrays this brilliantly, as the returning Narrator finds himself unable to communicate his experiences when he goes home on leave.

Stunning narration by Tom Lawrence. I wonder what my cohort of GR friends think as they read. I don’t know for sure when I’ll be up for watching it a second time, but that final feeling certainly won’t be going away from me any time soon, and I can almost guarantee this the kind of film you’ll be glad for watching at least once.
